Kitty Sheehan
Kitty is originally from Co. Cork. She teaches yoga and mindfulness to adults, teenagers, college students and adults with special needs. She was first introduced to yoga in 2004 while training to be a Mental Health nurse in Waterford. She quickly observed the profound healing effects it had on her patient’s mental health. She would credit yoga for changing and saving her life both mentally and physically.
In 2010 she completed a 1-month intensive hatha and vinyasa training at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, India. Following this she spent 3 years exploring various styles of yoga while living in cork and travelling around the world!! In 2013 Kitty completed her yoga teacher training with Yogachara Lalit Kumar of Himalaya Yoga Valley in Goa, India. This training deepened her knowledge of meditation, pranayama, anatomy and philosophy. She completed Josh Summers Yin and Mindfulness training in 2017 and adores how mindfulness is embedded in the Yin practice.
Kitty is also on the pathway to becoming a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher and offers introductory workshops on mindfulness to students in UCC. She is always training, going on retreats and updating her skills as a practitioner and a yoga teacher. She will be commencing her 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training in the Elbow Room, Dublin this coming May. She works part-time as a disability advisor to students with mental health difficulties in University College Cork.
